A journey into the past, guided by science

In the heart of the Mediterranean woodland and following more than 20 years of archaeological research, the Algaba prehistoric village recreates the way of life of the earliest farming communities over 5,000 years ago. It stands as the only experimental archaeology site of its kind in Europe, spanning 4,000 square meters enclosed by a 250-meter stone perimeter wall. Inside, you will discover 16 huts, various household goods, numerous pottery pieces, flint tools, garments, animal hides, hand mills, and other daily utensils that formed part of Neolithic material culture. All of this invites us to explore different ways of living, learn about their technology, their intimate relationship with the forest, and enjoy a reflective journey through time—and across space, as some indigenous communities still live this way today.

For schools and universities, this space offers an educational and research alternative that enriches teaching and learning. Through direct engagement with natural habitats and the ways early farming communities adapted to their surroundings, it serves as a wonderful archaeological living laboratory for all ages!
